By mounting smaller squares of plywood on a larger plywoodplate, I get a starting point for starting a work where I pour acrylic paint over these plates. When the paint dries, it goes from being glossy to becoming dull with cracks and a separation where the color meets the white paint. I map out how to pour different colors on the squares before I start. By pouring a certain color over a square, I create organic shapes that break with the square itself but at the same time retain their original geometric shape. This forms a pattern where it is difficult to place the gaze, where one ends up in an intermediate place between geometric and organic.
